PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording method and an ink jet recording apparatus which can suppress a deterioration in image quality caused by defective nozzles of a recording head without providing a special detection device or the like in the ink jet recording apparatus. SOLUTION: In an image processing process, when RGB data is expanded to multivalued CMYK data, the concentration is suppressed. Instead of that, every dot of binarized data is printed twice during printing. In order to perform such printing, multipath printing which completes an image area by a plurality of scannings of the recording head is employed, and each dot is printed twice by different nozzles.
