PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an obstacle detector capable of stably detecting an obstacle even if an end plate partially comes into contact with the obstacle. SOLUTION: The obstacle detector includes an upper end plate 10, a lower end plate 11, an oscillation lever 122 provided between both end plates and inputting an obstacle detection switch by pivoting with the upper motion of the lower end plate 11, a rotary detection body 131 provided between both end plates and having a pair of abutted sections (rollers) 133b alienated in the direction of the depth of the end plate, a link 134 connecting the oscillation lever 122 to the rotary detection body 131 and an operating section 111 pivoting the rotary detection body 131 by abutting on the abutted sections 134 with the upper motion of the lower end plate 11, and the operating section 111 is abutted on at least one of a pair of abutted sections 133b to make the rotary detection body 131 rotate to detect the obstacle by oscillating the oscillation lever 122.
