An organic EL device comprising a pair of electrodes consisting of an anode and a cathode, and an organic light emitting medium layer sandwiched between the pair of electrodes consisting of an anode and a cathode, wherein an organic light emitting medium layer contains a component (A): at least one selected from substituted or unsubstituted arylamine compounds having 10 to 100 carbon atoms, and a component (B): at least one selected from the general formula (Ar<SUB>1</SUB>)<SUB>a</SUB>-L (I), wherein Ar<SUB>1 </SUB>represents a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon group having 6 to 30 carbon atoms, or a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic heterocyclic group having 3 to 30 carbon atoms, a represents an integer of 2 to 6, a plural Ar<SUB>1 </SUB>may be the same with or different from each other, and L represents a substituted or unsubstituted a-valent moiety of a condensed polycyclic aromatic ring having 4 to 10 rings, and the device has excellent heat resistance and long lifetime, exhibits high current efficiency, and emits light in the range of green to pure red.
