PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform reference and update processing based on the content of a database (DB) at a past certain point of time while ensuring continuous access by general work to the DB. SOLUTION: A database management system divides and manages the database (DB) 8 separately in a first storage area 9, a second storage area 10 and a third storage area 11. The first storage area 9 stores the latest data at a current point of time by a general application (UAP) operated in an online system. The second storage area 10 stores data (t0 data) to be frozen at a past certain point of time (t0), and the third storage area 11 stores data (tn data) after update as a result of execution of new UAP based on the t0 data. A DB access control part 5 controls reference and update of each storage area 9, 10, 11 of the DB 8 in response to designation of the latest or past certain point of time from the UAP 4.
