PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a template matching device for accurately specifying corresponding positions even when an input signal is geographically changed. SOLUTION: This template matching device is provided with: an extraction means (S2) for extracting a partial signal for an arithmetic operation from a plurality of different positions in an input signal; an arithmetic means (S4) for calculating similarity between the partial signal extracted by the extraction means and an already known template signal; and a specification means (S8) for comparing the scale of similarity calculated at each position of the input signal to specify a corresponding position with the template signal in the input signal. An arithmetic means obtains similarity based on featured values (S1, S3) relating to at least either the high order local self-correlation of each of the partial signal and the template signal or a local binary pattern.
