METHOD FOR LEAK TESTING OF LNG CARGO TANK

A method for testing leakage of an LNG cargo tank is provided to sense leakage and the leakage location even after installation of a cooling panel and welding of a first membrane. A method for testing leakage of an LNG cargo tank includes the steps of: exhausting for 3 to 5 hours so that the pressure of a second space of the LNG cargo tank ranges from -450mb to -800mb; leaving the second space for 1 to 1.5 hours; pre-testing for observing the pressure change of the second space for 5 to 6 hours; testing for determining whether there is a leakage of the second membrane by substituting the pressure change of the second membrane in specific formulas; and charging nitrogen gas in the second space for 6 to 7 hours.
