The control and communication module (1) has two connection places (6) for connecting a function module. Each connection place has an interface (2) for transferring a communication data by or to a function module, and a contact point (3) for electrical contacting of a function module. The control and communication module is designed for firmly bonding or force fitting receiving in a mounting rail or in a top hat rail. An independent claim is also included for a system with a control and communication unit.
