PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device capable of widely displaying an image photographed by electronic zooming only to a predetermined amount at photographing confirmation, and selecting a recording image area within its range. SOLUTION: The imaging device comprises a display means (image display part 28) for displaying the photographed image that is based on output from an imaging device; an instruction means (operation part 74) for instructing to record the photographed image; and a determination means (system control circuit 50, the operation part 74) for determining the range of displaying the photographed image. Furthermore, the imaging device comprises: a control means (system control circuit 50) for displaying the image in the range at a second field angle larger than the range at a first field angle displayed in the display means prior to the instruction, accompanying a recording instruction by the instruction means.
