PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for performing code assignment in a spread spectrum wireless communication system, to which large area synchronized-code division multiple access (LAS-CDMA) protocol is incorporated, and to determine a set of LS codes based on window size without interference. SOLUTION: In a tree structure, the window size without interference and the LS codes correspond with each other. A subset of LS codes is formed in a window without interference so that it may have mutual correlation of zero. The subset is assigned to a cell in its neighborhood in the system in order to decrease the interference among neighboring cells.
