PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescent lamp protecting cover for protecting a fluorescent lamp by preventing broken pieces from scattering when the fluorescent lamp is broken, and a fluorescent lamp device protected by this fluorescent lamp protecting cover. SOLUTION: A cover body 20a cylindrically formed by using a synthetic resin having translucency and elasticity as a material is formed so as to have a length stretching between caps 11, 11 mounted to socket parts 10 respectively which are provided face to face in a fluorescent lamp fixture body X. A cutout 22 extending over the entire length is formed on the peripheral surface of the cover body 20a, and the cover body accepts a fluorescent lamp 1 in the inside of the cover body 20a through the cutout 22 opened by pushing it open and expand when using the cover body. The cover body 20a is shrunk by restoring force of the material to close the open cutout 22 and to cover the fluorescent lamp, and at the same time, the fluorescent lamp is mounted to the fluorescent lamp fixture body X by fastening the caps 11, 11 at both ends of the cover body 20a.
