An apparatus and a method for providing a multimedia contents format conversion service using a contents server are provided to allow a user who wants to provide his commodity or service to other users to upload UCC(User Created Content) information produced or owned by the user and provide format conversion requested by the user through a messenger or chatting in real time. An apparatus for providing a multimedia contents format conversion service includes a contents server(300). The contents server provides a multimedia player application program download service, stores information on multimedia contents uploaded through a multimedia player, converts the uploaded multimedia contents into a format which a user desires and provides the multimedia contents in the converted format. |
