<p>1,094,608. Automatic circuit breakers. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. June 1, 1965 [June 3, 1964], No. 23272/65. Heading H2B. The operating mechanism of an automatic circuit breaker is assembled between a pair of spaced, parallel, metal plates 34 each of whose opposite ends 62, 63 are supported upon but not positively attached to a moulded casing 10 of the breaker. The plates are held firmly against the casing 10 by screws 65 engaging portions 66 of central parts of the plates. The operating mechanism (Figs. 2, 3, not shown) comprises a releasably latched cam 44 engaged by a roller 59 linked by link 57 to a contact carrier 28 and by an overcentre tension spring 60 to an operating handle 41. The cam 44 is releasable by a bimetal 51 or armature 53 and overload magnet 25. The three phases of the breaker are linked by a tie bar 35 and a common trip bar 49. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,002,965.</p> |
