<p>PURPOSE:To provide a method and a device for conveying a workpiece material for decreasing a number of conveying carriages to eliminate necessity for a carriage returning exclusive use line by shortening a work line length in line production of long scaled structural materials of steel frame, bridge, etc. CONSTITUTION:A direction orthogonal to the lengthwise direction of a workpiece material 1 is set to a conveying direction, guide rails 2e of a conveying carriage 2 are laid in this conveying direction, each process work position is provided orthogonal to and further alternately in these rails, work planes 4 formed in upper surfaces of frames 3 are provided in each process work position, the workpiece material is supported to an upper surface of a liftable supporting base 2a provided in the conveying carriage 2, the workpiece material is conveyed so as to position its lower surface above the work plane, the supporting base is lowered down in the process work position to support the workpiece material to the work plane 4 worked, and the carriage 2 is moved on the rails.</p> |
