A method of making a copper clad plastic panel comprises the steps of placing a copper foil on a substantially horizontal moulding surface, forming on the upper surface of said copper foil an assembly of at least two layers of glass cloth with a layer of matted glass fibres between each two layers of glass cloth and a quantity of viscous liquid thermosetting resin impregnating and encapsulating said layers of glass cloth and matted glass, and moulding the resultant assembly at an elevated temperature and pressure to produce a glass-reinforced copper-clad panel. A mould release agent may be interposed between the moulding surface and the copper foil. Specified thermosetting resins are phenol-formaldehyde, urea-formaldehyde, epoxy and modified methacrylate resins.</p> |
