Title cpds. are producedb y aminating 1-amino-7-hydroxynaphthalene-4-sulphonic acid or 1,7-dihydroxynaphthalene-4-sulphonic acid, pref. in aq. ammonia at about 200 degrees C, or in aq. (NH4)2SO3 soln. at 150 degrees C, or in aq. ammonia in the presence of (NH4)HSO3, (NH4)2SO3 or SO2 At 150 degrees C. Instead of ammonia, amines can be used.
