Toes of stockings and tights made on circular knitting machine are closed by inserting at the toe edge an additional toe closing thread in such a way that it is incorporated in the knitting at least one time round and by drawing in the closing thread to cause the knitted hose to contract after which the thread is secured to prevent it from working loose. |
