The plating bath contains zinc salts, brightening and wetting agents and derivatives of polymeric or oligomeric reaction products of equimolar amounts of alkylene polyamines and aliphatic alpha,omega-bifunctional alkylating agents which contain 3-8 carbon atoms in a straight chain and whose nitrogen atoms are substituted by 1-4C aliphatic radicals capable of carrying hydroxyl, carboxyl or sulphonic acid groups. Specifically, the derivatives are those of polymeric or oligomeric reaction products of equimolar amounts of alkylene polyamines and epichlorohydrin. A further addition is thiourea and cadmium salt. The wetting agent is a short-chain branched alkyl sulphate. |
