PURPOSE:To make it easy to insert the leading end of a pipe member in the inlet of a pipe joint even if there is dimensional irregularity by making the diameter of the leading end of the pipe member small while making the diameter of the inlet of the pipe joint large. CONSTITUTION:A pipe joint 1 to be used is stepwise reduced in diameter over two or more stages so that the diameter thereof is large at the inlet of the pipe joint and becomes small toward the deep part thereof. Therefore, the outer peripheral surface of the end part of a pipe member 2 to be connected is stepwise cut over two or more stages by a jig so that the diameter of the pipe member is small at the leading end thereof and becomes large toward the root part thereof to form the outer peripheral surface 21 matched with the inner peripheral surface 11 of the pipe joint 1. Next, the inner peripheral surface 11 of the pipe joint 1 and the outer peripheral surface 21 of the leading end of the pipe member 2 are heated to be melted and, immediately, the leading end part of the pipe member 2 is inserted in the pipe joint 1. Whereupon, the outer peripheral surface 21 of the leading end part of the pipe member 2 and the inner peripheral surface 11 of the pipe joint 1 are welded and the pipe member 2 and the pipe joint 1 are allowed to stand for a while in this state to be cooled to be strongly connected. |
