PURPOSE:To promote absorption of water into a plant and softly swell it by allowing a weakly acid diluent liquid to act on glucomannan which is a sparingly water-soluble plant polysaccharide. CONSTITUTION:A weakly acidic diluent solution of an amino acid, e.g. an organic acid such as fumaric acid or an amino acid such as L-glutamic acid is allowed to act on glucomannan which is a sparingly water-soluble polysaccharide contained together with sparingly soluble polysaccharides such as plant cellulose in the plant. Since glucomannan is hydrolyzed and decomposed into mannose and glucose, water absorption property is improved. Consequently, absorption of water to plant is promoted. |
