Tuning mechanism for the passive reflector of a shortwave aerial operated over various frequency ranges. A double line is connected to the reflector to be used for stub matching purposes. This is done by changing the reactance of the two lines by a shorting bridge moved along on a carriage. The carriage is mounted on rollers, of which the contact rollers are connected to the shorting bar. There are also two guide rollers and two pressure rollers and these are used to insure good electrical contact. The position of the carriage is adjusted via a pulley system linked up between the two masts and operated by a remote drive. |
