1306730 End face rotary seals GOETZEWERKE FRIEDRICH GOETZE AG 18 June 1970 [18 June 1969] 29716/70 Heading F2B In an end face seal comprising a sealing ring 7, 8 having an annular end sealing face 16 and inner and outer frusto-conical surfaces tapering in the same direction and sealed to its associated part 15, 15<SP>1</SP> by an elastomeric ring 11, 12 engaging one 9, 10 of the frusto-conical surfaces, the sealing ring is formed by conically expanding a piece of cylindrically drawn tube. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 2, the 0-rings 11, 12 are compressed between the outer surfaces 9, 10 and frusto-conical surfaces 11, 12 of the relatively rotatable housing parts 15, 151 and the sealing rings 7, 8 engage in rubbing sealing contact at the interface 16. In a modification, Fig. 3 (not shown), the 0-rings (17, 18) engage the inner surfaces (19, 20) of the sealing rings (21, 22). In a further modification, Fig. 4, the sealing ring 23 is sealed in a housing 25 by an 0-ring 24 engaging its outer surface and the sealing ring 26 is sealed to a shaft 28 by an 0-ring 27 engaging its inner surface. |
