Bending machine has a rotatable former mounted on a shaft carried by an enclosed frame, a sprocket wheel is secured to the shaft and a length of chain which engages the sprocket wheel has its ends connected to two hydraulic piston and cylinder motors which are located within the longitudinal sides of the frame. The machine comprises a frame of box-section members in which is rotatably mounted a shaft 11 having fixed thereon a rotatable former 12. Also secured to the shaft is a sprocket wheel 16 over which passes a chain 15. The ends of the chain are fastened to the piston-rods 14 of two trunnion-mounted hydraulic cylinders 13. One of the trunnions, 18, of each cylinder is received in a bearing bush 20 in the frame and the other trunnion which is of smaller diameter is passed along a slot 24 into an enlarged opening 22. A packing ring 25 is positioned on a tapered section of the trunnion to fill the annular space between the trunnion and the opening 22 and a nut 26 is screwed on to a threaded portion of the trunnion. |
