Electrolytic capacitor with two-stage- - anodised anode

Static electrolytic oxidation of the anode is carried out in two stages with increasing voltage and where a semi conduct material cathode is used, there is an electrolytic post oxidization after assembly, the whole then being encased and further electrically processed. Within each stage of oxidization applied to a cathode anode pair the voltage is increased at decreasing speed and with decreasing current referred to the initial value of that stage. The technique improves both leakage current and power factor.
