1,248,000. Polyurethanes. WYANDOTTE CHEMICALS CORP. 9 Sept., 1969 [25 Sept., 1968], No. 44573/69. Headings C3C and C3R. [Also in Division C2] In examples, a polyoxylene-propylene glycerine initiated triol is reacted with an organic isocyanate which is contaminated with hydrolysable chlorine and to which has been added a N,N-disubstituted carbamyl chloride in an amount sufficient to increase the hydrolysable chlorine by from 10-100 p.p.m. by weight of organic isocyanate, thereby increasing its reactivity. Specifically toluylene diisocyanate (80/20 mixture of 2,4-/2,6-isomers) to which methyl phenyl-, dibutyl-, diphenyl-, morpholine- or piperidine carbamyl chloride had been added was used. |
