[Also in Division C4] A paint comprising a phenolic, epoxy ester or epoxy polyamide resin vehicle and zinc dust contains 1-5% by weight of a zeolite. The zeolite may be of type A or type X (see Specifications 777,232 and 777,233) in powder form of particle size less then 5Á The zinc may be extended by ZnO in a ratio Zn: ZnO of 4: 1 and the total pigment content of the dry film may be at least 80%. Examples 1, 2 and 3 relate to epoxy ester, epoxy polyamide and phenolic base paints respectively, the other ingredients being Zn dust, xylol, naphtha, clay, ethanol, Co and Ca naphthenates, and an anti-skinning agent. |
