[Also in Division F2] A spindle bearing casing 4 is resiliently held in a ring 17 by a bearing arrangement which includes at least one flexible element 6, 10 and a plate 9 which is adjustably fastened to the ring 17 by screws 15 passing through larger diameter bores 18 to allow for adjustment in the horizontal direction. The casing 4 is also held at a distance from the ring 17 by a component rail 24 which by adjustment of nuts 28, 29 can exert an axial force on the casing 4. The casing may be secured to the rail 24 through a flexible, peripheral slotted tube 23 which is secured to the casing (Fig. 1). Alternatively (Figure 2), the casing is connected via a rubber insert 44 to a rod 46 which is adjustably secured to the rail 24. A weight 31, (41) is fixed to the lower end of the casing, its inertia producing forces acting against the lateral motion of the lower end of the casing. The spindle shaft is supported in bearings in the casing, one of these bearings being yieldably connected to the casing. |
