The protective film against counterfeiting a passport or a resident card is produced by (a) adding 0.5˜1.5parts of ammonium persulfate as polymerization initiator and 0.1˜0.3parts of triphenyl chloromethane as polymerization inhibitor to 99parts of acrylic acid monomer, and reacting the mixture to obtain a water-soluble acrylic resin, (b) mixing 50% acrylic resin with 30% ethyl alcohol, 15% ethylene glycol and 5% antifoaming agent to obtain printing vanish, (c) adding a dyestuff and a functional coloring agent to the vanish to obtain a hydrophilic transfer ink, and (d) covering the surface of a transparent synthetic resin film with a hot melt adhesive, and gravure printing the adhesive layer with the transfer ink.
