A chocolate container such as an edible basket is formed with an open top surrounded by an inturned lip. A sheet of flexible material e.g. cardboard or plastics, extends across the open top with its edges engaged beneath thelip. The sheet is slightly larger than the open top so that it lies in a dished position and may be used to support objects to be placed in the container. A handle has end portions which extend down into the basket and engage with the flexible sheet.
