Esp. used for the prodn. of decorative patterns on textile or other sheet or web-like material using thread and decorative embroideries. Apparatus includes a sewing maching having a reciprocating needle mounted for cyclic passage through a processing location and a rectilinear feeding means for moving the web of material down the needle travel path. A guiding means is mounted for arctuate movement so that processing can be carried out in a varied path.
