1,158,221. Mould charging device. SCHLOSSER & CO. G.m.b.H. 29 March, 1967 [5 April, 1966], No. 142.57/67. Heading B5A. A device for charging moulds with concrete or similar plastics materials comprises a frame (divided into sections by partitions) which is pushed over the mould, and emptied by removal of its base. The frame has walls 7 divided into compartments 5 by partitions 6 and a movable base 11. Material 3 is supplied from hopper 1 through delivery opening 2. The frame base 11 runs on wheels 16 and is attached to the frame 7 by a movable pin 24, and to a fixed point 26 by a spring 25. In operation the frame and base are pushed to the left by a ram operating on block 19 thereby passing the frame sections under the hopper and filling and levelling these sections. Plate 9 passes under the hopper to prevent further deposition of material. When the frame is positioned over the mould 12, pin 24 is removed and the base 11 returns to its original position, depositing the concrete into the mould. The apparatus can be used to make layered mouldings, as it produces substantially level surfaces of moulding material. The partitions in the frame preferably run parallel to the walls and divide the frame into equal volumes. They should be the same height as the frame walls. The frames may be exchangeable or of variable height to allow use with different volumes of material. |
