(I), useful as hypolipaemic and anti-inflammatory agents: (where R1 is 1-10C alkyl or benzyl; R2 is H or Me; R3 is H or alkyl; X is O or S) are prepd. by standard methods from the 20ols or 2-thiols through the dicarboxylic acids or nitriles or amides which cpds. also form part of the invention.
