<p>The parent patent, 6904702 (36718Q), describes a synthetic yarn comprising a core of fixed false-twisted filaments, and sheath component(s) of filaments in spiral form, the direction of twist of the spirals being reversed at intervals. Sheath filaments formed with a spiral direction alternating from S twist to Z twist and vice versa, can be wrapped around the core, such yarns being described as of "high degree." In this addition, texturised "low degree" yarns comprise a false-twist texturised core and a sheath consisting of false-twist texturised filament(s) with a higher crimping amplitude than those of the core, wound intermittently in spirals (which may alternately reverse their direction) to produce an integral thread with variable bulk longitudinally and periodic loops in the core. The core has a differing decitex per filament from that of the sheath and the yarns are produced by feeding the two components to feed rollers, heating zone, false-twister and drafting rollers, the latter moving relatively to the feed so that the filaments are stretched to between 1, 5 and 6, 0 times feed length, the component filaments having different stretch characteristics, with stretching taking place in the heating zone whilst they are twisted.</p> |
