Floating roller useful for drawing spun synthetic filaments

The floating roller unit, to take a synthetic filament round it several times in its movement path, has a protective hood (4) shrouding the filament-wound zone (8) of the roller (1). It has a cylindrical shape, with a gap between it and the roller which is larger at the entry side than at the exit side.
