PURPOSE:To display an excellent picture with inconspicuous scanning lines by inverting the phase of a demodulating oscillation signal of a frequency 2n times as high as a subcarrier frequency by 180 deg. each in two horizontal periods when demodulating a color signal included in a read signal. CONSTITUTION:The time axis of a received video signal is compressed to a half by time-axis compressing circuit 5. Then, a horizontal synchronizing signal obtained by separating the video signal by synchronous separating circuit 9 is multiplied to a double frequency by multiplying circuit 11 to give effect to the high-speed horizontal deflection of cathode-ray tube 7. Therefore, a picture of high quality with inconspicuous scanning lines can be projected.
