PURPOSE:To provide an elevator operation control device allowing a work to be more quickly undertaken for resetting an elevator to operation, and further allowing a burden on a worker to be lowered to a larger extent at no high cost, regarding an elevator kept at rest under control operation, upon the occurrence of an earthquake as one of wide-area disasters. CONSTITUTION:Upon detecting the prescribed vibrations through an earthquake detector 9, this elevator operation control device temporarily stops an elevator as earthquake control operation. Thereafter, the device makes judgement about a relative positional relationship between a car 7 and a balance weight 8, and starts the low-speed automatic check operation of the elevator within a range not causing the mutual contact of the car 7 and the weight 8, thereby causing the car 7 to stop at the specified floor or at a floor nearest the specified floor. |
