The disinfecting unit with functional control is intended for the treatment of objects with disinfectants and neutralising agents. Aqueous solutions of the disinfectant, e.g. formaldehyde, or of the neutralising agent, e.g. ammonia, are evaporated in a sealable chamber of the disinfecting unit after introduction of the objects to be disinfected. The evaporated agent condenses on the inserted objects. After the exposure time, the objects are rinsed and dried with fresh air. The functional control monitors the proper functioning of the various components, e.g. evaporation device and blower, via a moisture sensor which is placed on the object to be disinfected and which measures the deposition of moisture there. The moisture sensor is connected via a flexible line to a programming mechanism in the control part of the disinfecting unit. A fault indicator is triggered in the event of deviations from predetermined values. The disinfecting unit is especially suitable for disinfecting medical equipment and respirators. |
