PURPOSE:To develop respective latent image potentials with toners of different colors by subjecting the surfaces of various kinds of phitoreceptors having conductive layers and photoconductive layers basically to exposure and charge by a laser light having the quantity of light of many-valued levels simultaneously. CONSTITUTION:Since a laser light is off in the black image parts to be exposed at the quantity of light corresponding to two color images by said laser light simultaneously with positive electrostatic charging, said parts are charged positively as they are and the positive potential is formed. In the white image parts, on the other hand, they are exposed by weak light and therefore a photoconductive layer 1b is thoroughly conducted, and all the electrostatic charges are discharged despite positive charging and roughly zero potential is formed. The surface potentials in the image parts of black, red and white are formed in the above-mentioned manner, and if these are developed with colored particles corresponding to the respective levels, the two color images are obtained. |
