In an arrangement for heating a building, with a solar collector (11), a charging accumulator (15) which can be charged by the solar collector, a service-water accumulator (14) which can be charged by the charging accumulator via a pump (32) and a valve (5), a heat pump (17) which is connected on the primary side to the charging accumulator and on the secondary side via a pump (21) to consumers (18) and the service-water accumulator, in order to design the casing of its individual elements as simply as possible and at the same time to make the arrangement do justice to the varying supplies of solar energy, it is envisaged that four straight-way valves (1, 2, 3, 4) are present, which are connected in parallel-lying pairs of valves (1, 2; 3, 4) lying in series between the forward and return runs of the heat exchangers lying in series of the charging accumulator (15) and service-water accumulator (14), the heat exchangers being individually bypassable, and that the forward run of the secondary side of the heat pump (17) is connected to the common point of the valves (1, 2) of one pair and the return run of the secondary side of the heat pump is connected to the common point of the valves (3, 4) of the other pair. <IMAGE>
