PURPOSE:To obtain both of high resistance and low heat capacity of a honeycomb carrier of a self-heating type catalyst convertor, to decrease thermal conductivity, to heat the catalyst to the activating temp. with small electric power, and to improve the durability. CONSTITUTION:This honeycomb carrier 1 which carries the catalyst consists of flat plates and wavy plates of metal. Slit lines 2 comprising lots of apertures are formed in a part of the body. The honeycomb body is provided with an inlet port 11 and an outlet port for an electric current to be applied on the slit lines 2 in the axial direction of the honeycomb body. The inlet port 11 has a rod electrode 3 which projects outside through an engaging hole 14a of an outer cylinder 14 and the rod electrode 3 is fixed to the outer cylinder 14 in an electrically insulated state with an insulating member such as a ceramic insulator 15. |
