PURPOSE:To set optionally the original point of the data writing area of a frame memory by using a means to set the horizontal and vertical data write starting points of the data writing areas of the longitudinal and lateral frame memories in a print area to each designated address. CONSTITUTION:The signal designating the writing end point (gh) of the X direction shown as an X end address is previously supplied to the comparator 9 of a control part 3 from a CPU via a latch 11. This designating signal is latched by the latch 11 and inputted to the comparator 9. The comparator 9 compares the received designating signal with the X address signal which designates the address of the X direction set when data are written to a frame memory 1 converted by an adder 8. When the address of the X address signal exceeds the address (gh) at an end point designated by the CPU, a signal is delivered to an OR circuit 12 to show that the data writing of the X direction reaches the end point. The CPU receives the signals reaching each end point in both X and Y directions and inhibits a case where data are written to the data writing area of the designated frame memory 1.
