PURPOSE: To give a variety to the personality of speaker by tabulating all of exponential function values and changing a reference position in the table in accordance with a reference pitch frequency (Fmin) and changing the correspondence relation between intermediate expression and an actual pitch frequency. CONSTITUTION: An actual pitch frequency operation circuit 7 converts the intermediate expression consisting of two values of an accent component value and a phrase component value into the actual pitch frequency. That is, a table of calculation results of exponents is preliminarily stored, and a pertinent value is taken as the actual pitch frequency. Since Fmin is different by speakers in this case, the reference position (Pstd) in the table is changed for each speaker so that it corresponds to Fmin of the speaker; and thereby, the correspondence relation between the intermediate expression consisting of the accent component value and the phrase component value and the actual pitch frequency is changed. Thus, not only male/female voice switching but also switching of various qualities and tones such as calm/vigorous voice are realized in accordance with a control command, which is inserted to an input character string of a voice synthesizer 8, by table reference and simple arithmetic operations. |
