<p>PURPOSE:To maintain a low energy consumption and also dehumidify gases to be of a low humidity, by lowering the water content to a specific range by pretreating humid gases, thereafter supplying the gases to the high pressure side of a gas separation membrane. CONSTITUTION:Pressurized air containing steam is supplied through a line A to a pretreatment apparatus 1 employing a cooling or absorbing process, where the air containing steam is dehumidified to that the atmospheric dew point thereof becomes 0--20 deg.C, following which the pretreated air is fed through a line B to the high pressure side 31 of a water-selectively-permeable gas separation membrane 3 of a gas separation apparatus 2, while the pressure on the low pressure side 32 of the gas separation membrane 3 is reduced by means of a vacuum generator 4. The difference in partial steam pressure between the high pressure side 31 and the low pressure side 32 causes the steam contained in the pretreated air to pass through the gas separation membrane 3, so that dehumidified gases can be obtained at the outlet of the high pressure side 31.</p> |
