Half tone picture processing method for digital printer - deciding if picture data are less than given binary value to determine location in white part

The picture processing system has an input device, a discriminator, a digitiser and a setting device. The setting device fixes the one binary output for the picture data (coming from the digitiser) to a low level without taking into account the result of digitisation if the discriminator detects that the inputted picture data are smaller than a given value. The input device has a reader reading the image of an original and a device to generate the picture data representing the concentrated image. The discriminator decides whether the picture data are less than a given value or not to decide whether the picture data are in a white part or not.
