ELECTRIC DOUBLE LAYER CAPACITOR

PURPOSE:To keep the pressurized state of a laminated body firmly for a long time by means of a pressurization, holding frame at a laminated electric double layer capacitor whose outer shape is square-shaped. CONSTITUTION:An electric double layer capacitor has the following feature; polarizing electrodes 1, separators 2 and collectors (dielectric films) 3 covering a plurality of cells are laminated and sealed hermetically inside a square-shaped sealing gasket 8; the part of the sealing gasket 8 at their outer circumference is sandwiched by using a pressurization holding frame 5 whose cross section is U-shaped; and they are held in a pressurized state. At the electric double layer capacitor, edges at pieces 5a which have been bent to the surface and the rear surface of said laminated body at corner parts of the pressurization holding frame 5 are welded 6 and united.
