Drive for opening and closing gates using sprocket and chain

The sprocket is mounted in the gate post which consists of two sections (3.5) which are attached to one another with links (7). The sprocket is mounted in one of the sections. The section incorporates a guide channel, around the sprocket wheel, which keeps the chain in close contact with the wheel. The section further incorporates two channels for the two sides of the chain. The channels are separated by a T-section (0.9). The links of the chain are guided by the ridges of the T-section and by matching ridges on the other sides of the channels.
