Instrument for measuring the stretch of uterine cervical mucus. The instrument, in the form of dividers 1 with limbs 2 and 3 articulated about a rear pivot 4 has fixedly attached to one of its limbs 3 a graduated scale 9 and to the other a U-shaped marker 10 through which the said scale 9 runs in order to measure the longitudinal separation of the distal ends or tips of its limbs 2, 3 in such a way that the length of a filament 11 formed by drawing out a sample of uterine cervical mucus can be measured just before it breaks. To make the instrument easier to handle the upper limb 2 has one extremity in the form of a tail lever 6 and a side projection 5, while the lower limb 3 has a handle 7 with an extensive wide opening 8 near the pivot. <IMAGES>
