PURPOSE:To utilize the terminal device in off-line mode by reducing the load of user information acquisition on a center device without impeding a control function for the user information by the center device. CONSTITUTION:Terminal devices 2, 3... are equipped with volatile memories 22, 32... and nonvolatile memories 23, 33... wherein a constant number of pieces of user information are stored on a first-in first-out basis. When user information corresponding to an ID read by a magnetic card reader 21 is not stored in the volatile memory 22 and the system is in an on-line state, transaction processing is performed with the user information received by sending a user information acquisition request to the center device 1 and the information is stored in the volatile memory 22 and nonvolatile memory 23. When the user information is stored and held in the volatile memory 22, the transaction processing is performed with the user information in the volatile memory 22 without sending the user information acquisition request. When the user information is not in the volatile memory 22 and the system is in an off-line state, it is decided whether or not the transaction processing can be performed with the user information stored in the nonvolatile memory 23. |
