PURPOSE:To provide a developing device which carries only electrified toner of a required polarity to a photoreceptor by supplying a stable, uniform thin layer of toner. CONSTITUTION:The developing device uses the one-component toner electrified by friction or the injection of charges, and carries the toner from a toner cartridge 24 to a photoreceptor 12, in two stages, by the use of a first toner- carrying means 28 and a second toner-carrying means 29 to each of which a bias of the opposite polarity of the toner is applied. The developing device is equipped with a toner quantitative control means 30 which abuts on the first toner-carrying means 28 in order to control an amount of the toner on the first-toner carrying means 28. |
