PURPOSE:To prevent the peeling from an interface and the advance of corrosion, in a composite material obtained by laminating a metal plate to one surface of a synthetic resin sheet, by covering the end surface of the composite material with a tape composed of a synthetic resin having the same quality as the synthetic resin sheet. CONSTITUTION:A composite material 1 has a structure wherein a metal plate 2 is bonded and laminated to at least one surface of a synthetic resin sheet 3. The exposed place of the interface of the synthetic resin sheet 3 and the metal plate 2, that is, the end surface of the composite material 1 is covered with a synthetic resin tape 4 having the same quality as the synthetic resin sheet 3. Since it is desirable that the synthetic resin tape 4 is good in the adhesiveness not only to the synthetic resin sheet but also to the metal plate 2, the surface of the synthetic resin tape 4 is subjected to activation treatment by fluorine-containing gas. The fluorine-containing gas treating the synthetic resin tape 4 contains oxygen, fluorine and, if necessary, nitrogen and consists of fluorine 0.1-70vol.%, oxygen 30-99vol.% and nitrogen 0-70vol.%. |
