PURPOSE: To obtain a new tampon which does not cause any excess drying of a vaginal epithelium, although it has high absorbing ability, by making the tampon formed in a way that the tampon includes an absorbent core having a surface capillary suction pressure less than a predetermined value. CONSTITUTION: The tampon with an absorbing property includes an absorbent core having a surface capillary suction pressure less than about 40 mmHg and forms itself. In this new tampon product which prevents drying of a vaginal wall, an absorbent core of the tampon functions in a common way to prevent drying of the vaginal wall together with to enable to absorb flow of a menstruation and/or other secreting fluids, and a coating of the tampon should be able to pass body fluids through in order to absorb them by a core material. In the case of this tampon, the body fluids can be passed through under at a far lower capillary suction pressure than a pressure required to the traditional product, and the capillary suction pressure less than about 40 mmHg can reduce substantially the drying of the vaginal epithelium.
